NEWS FROM PASTOR WALLY – MAY 5, 2022

May 5, 2022 Hello Calvary Family We are so excited to be back at the school (Evie Garrett Dennis Campus)

Road Trip “Discovering our Spiritual Journey”

IMPORTANT CHANGE IN LOCATION:

Because of the expected snow and whiteout conditions in and near Estes Park, we have decided to cancel at YMCA Estes Park, but move forward with the retreat this weekend at Living Tower Church and give back $120. to each paid registration.

My hope and prayer is that we can regroup and plan again for the fall or early summer of next year. I’m still excited about this weekend. I know some of you are relieved about not having to travel in such risky weather.

Here’s the bad news:

We aren’t able to completely get away into the mountains like we wanted.
We won’t be able to throw axes in the woods.
We women have not had many opportunities to fellowship so this was much needed.

Here’s the good news:

We will all be home each night in our warm comfy beds safe and sound.
We will still be able to fellowship and study God’s Word together.
Trudy is making her famous Taco Soup for lunch on Saturday and we still plan on having all our meals together.
Ax Throwing is still possible, but we may have to take a break and drive there. Sabrina had a great idea about playing games.
We asked for a miracle and we asked for God’s will and I believe he said yes when he opened a door to us having it at the church.

See the good outweighs the bad! For those who wanted to postpone entirely, I hope that you will come and enjoy fellowship.

Here is the schedule for the weekend:

Friday, May 21 – Arrive at Living Tower Church at 6:00 p.m. Address: 18821 E 22nd Pl, Aurora, CO 80011
Saturday, May 22 – Arrive at Living Tower Church at 8:00 a.m. Breakfast will be served.
We will have the same scheduled sessions and enjoy lunch and dinner together.
We will have some free time. If anyone has any ideas on what we can do, share it and we can all decide what we want to do. It would be optional, of course.

I praise God for keeping us safe and for opening another door. Thank you, Lord for your provision and care for us. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening.

Calvary GVR Women’s Ministry is excited to invite you to join us on our Women’s Road Trip Retreat!

The theme for our retreat is “Roadtrip!” Discovering our Spiritual Journeys”. We all can probably agree that traveling comes with its challenges, but when we arrive at that perfect vacation spot or special event, the memory of the challenge is behind us and we are on to the fun that is ahead. Our spiritual journey can be much the same. come Join us as we get on the road to discovering God’s best for us as we are heaven bound.

We have invited a guest speaker, Veronica Bustamante, who’s greatest gift from God is Faith! Mirta and I will also speak. Katie Foster and Xyla will be leading worship. Our prayer is that  you come with expecting hearts.

I know it is not always easy to get away for the weekend. There is so much to plan for and arrange. I’m praying for each and every one of  you, asking God to help you.

Meals:
We will have a hardy snack upon your arrival. We will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday.

Activities:
We will be filling up much of your time with fellowship and diving into God’s Word; however, we will try to arrange for some time on Saturday to enjoy the recreation options.

We sincerely hope that you will plan to set this special time for a “Road Trip” and join us at the Living Tower Church.
